Webinar on sustainability across Biomass Supply Chain run by Biomass Magazine | 10 March 2016
On Thursday 10 March 2016 the Biomass Magazine will hold a free webinar on The Sustainable Biomass Partnership (SBP) and its implication for the Biomass supply chain.
The Sustainable Biomass Partnership (SBP) is an industry-led initiative, formed in 2013 by major European utilities that use biomass, mostly in the form of wood pellets, in large thermal power plants. It was formed to help ensure the feedstock used to create this fuel is acquired sustainably.
The SBP has been developed as a certification framework to provide assurance that woody biomass is sourced from legal and sustainable sources, allowing companies in the biomass sector to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
The webinar - starting at 8 pm London time - will offer an insight on the current status of the framework and its journey to where its at today, specifying what it takes to become certified, how to perform an SBP audit and how the SBP works with other certification schemes.
The panel includes: Katie Fletcher, Associate Editor, Pellet Mill Magazine; Simon Armstrong, Technical Director, Sustainable Biomass Partnership (SBP); Norman Boatwright, Forestry Program Manager, NSF International; Richard Peberdy, Vice President of Sustainability, Drax Biomass International Inc.; Shawn Ellsworth, Director, Risk Assurance Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
